MOTHER & NEWBORN SESSIONS
One of craniosacral therapy's most appreciated qualities is its capacity to rapidly resolve problems that many babies face.
During the birth process, it is normal for the cranial bones to override each other as the baby's head molds to fit through the mother's pelvis. After birth, these adjustments and other accommodations should correct themselves. If they don't, they may interfere with proper cranial nerve function which can lead to: colic, breathing and swallowing issues, digestive troubles, and sensory-motor impairments. Additionally, sometimes babies are injured or traumatized in the birth process—either physically or emotionally. CST can address these injuries. CST can also help correct the results of limited mobility in utero, precipitous or prolonged labor, vacuum extraction, forceps or cesarean birth.
CST CAN HELP RESOLVE THESE ISSUES:
- Fussy, hard to soothe babies
- Babies who seem uncomfortable in their bodies
- Babies who have digestive or elimination difficulties
- Colic and constipation
- Weight gain
- Spitting up
- Inconsistent or troubled sleep
- Breastfeeding problems
- Difficult latching
- Latch problems that contribute to sore nipples for moms
- Babies who favor turning their heads to one side
- Babies who favor one breast or position for nursing
- Babies who seem overly sensitive
- Babies who hate tummy time
“WHEN YOUR BABY RESTS BETTER, EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY RESTS BETTER.”
Treating your baby early with CST can help him be healthier and more comfortable in his body. Early treatment can also help with balance and coordination. The after-effects of an ear infection can throw off the balance of your baby’s nervous system and interfere with coordination as she’s learning to walk. I can listen to your little one's nervous system and help ease him into a healthful place. As his movement repertoire grows from stretching to rolling over to crawling and walking, craniosacral treatments can help set up healthful patterns that will continue to benefit your child as he grows and develops.
Here's what one mother shared:
So happy and calm...
My newborn daughter experienced very painful gas and colic symptoms. I had tried everything to soothe her!
Caitlin is very patient and loving with babies. Her technique is amazing to watch and is completely non-invasive.
After the second visit, I felt like I had a different baby. She was so happy and calm. She had nearly no gassy episodes and she started nursing normally again. She was sleeping longer and better as well.
