Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, light-touch approach that involves “listening with the hands” to the body’s subtle rhythms and any patterns of inertia and congestion that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction. Craniosacral therapy takes a whole-person approach to healing. The interconnections of the mind, body and heart are acknowledged as well as how the body reflects experiences and retains the memory of trauma. It is an effective form of treatment for a wide variety of illnesses, helping to create the optimal conditions for health, encouraging vitality and facilitating a sense of well being. Craniosacral is suitable or people of all ages, including babies, children and the elderly, for acute or chronic cases.

Nutritional Therapy

How we eat is the foundation for our lasting health. Nutrition and lifestyle suggestions are incorporated into all treatments. I focus on the energies and therapeutic properties of foods instead of just analyzing the chemical constituents. The advantage of this approach lies in the ability to customize to every individual’s needs. Chinese nutrition and Ayurveda take into consideration such factors as method of preparation, body type, season, and one’s geographical location in determining the appropriate diet. Depending on details such as the season, your symptoms and constitution; certain foods, spices and herbs can help to harmonize the body.


Acupressure

Acupressure is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine which involves the stimulation of acupuncture points with finger pressure using the power and sensitivity of human touch, rather than inserting needles. This form of healing is non-invasive and gentle. The indications include the vast array of conditions that Chinese medicine has proven to treat effectively. Because acupressure stimulates the body’s natural self-healing abilities, it also works as a great preventative therapy. 

Acupressure is ideal for children as it's gentle, safe, and effective for many conditions, including relief and prevention of colds and flu. It's also suitable for the elderly suffering from conditions including arthritis, mobility problems, constipation, and poor circulation.

Aromatherapy

Our sense of smell influences many physiological pathways including the stimulation of hormones and other metabolic processes. Aromatherapy is founded on the body's predictable response to specific olfactory stimuli. Essential oils are used for a very wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. In session, I assess the most balancing oils needed for you based on the principles of Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda.

In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and being beautifully fragrant to people, essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Modern scientific study and trends toward more holistic approaches to wellness are driving a revival and new discovery of essential oil health applications.


Mindful Movement

The practice of yoga is designed to join the different layers of our being. When we unify the mind, body, and heart we allow greater states of peace and presence in addition to bringing strength and vitality to our being. Through using physical postures, breath work, and meditation, students of all levels can receive powerful benefits from this ancient practice. I often suggest movement and meditation practices during my private work with clients in addition to my drop in yoga classes and private yoga classes.

Ayurvedic Facial Massage

 

This massage draws on the ancient wisdom of the Tibetan and Indian Ayurvedic systems. Traditionally in these systems, polarity, acupressure, and Swedish-style massage were integrated. The massage works locally and reflexively: locally to improve the skin and uplift the face, and reflexively to relax and deeply nourish the whole body.
